Velowomen Update

Good morning, Sponsors. Wow – this weekend was WARM! And what better excuse to be out enjoying the sunshine than cheering on the VeloWomen who were racing in the prestigious Boise 70.3 Half Ironman?! Many of us had the pleasure of cheering on our fellow racers as they swam 1.2 miles, biked 56 miles, and ran 13.1 miles in the hot, hot, heat.

Boise 70.3 Results

  • 11th place age group finishCatherine Chopp with a total time of 6:31:32 (bike 3:11:36)
  • 12th place age group finishLaura Bond with a total time of 6:39:55 (bike 3:19:05)
  • 7th place relay team – Team Tri Town with a total time of 5:53:51 – Lindsey Genereux (swim 39:55) and Kristin Muchow (bike 3:01:38)
  • 15th place relay team – Team Legally Rad with a total time of 6:50:06 – Khristine Miller (bike 3:52:01)

Congratulations to all of you for representing! We are so proud of your accomplishment and the long hours of training for this event.

News from the “Other Side” – Mountain biking! 

  • Kelsey Speigel participated in the Knobby 9-5 endurance mountain bike race last weekend, while her teammates “tri’d” it up. Her coed team placed 4th after a looooonnng day of hitting the trails. Nice work, Kelsey!

The Half Ironman and Knobby 9-5 finished on the heels of the Lyle Pearson 200 Relay, which also featured many VeloWomen competitors.

LP200 Results

  • Our flagship team at the LP200 was Velowomen (Kneehigh), featuring Tiedji Baker, Kim Elder, Neoma Maines, and Ann Lipp. These ladies rode from Boise to Sun Valley and were chauffeured by the lovely Lindsay Genereux. Teamwork was essential, and these gals all rallied for a fun, memorable ride through the mountains for a 74th place team finish. See attached photos – love the socks!!
  • Team Velowomen #2 consisted of Kelsey Speigel, Kristin Maughan, and two guest riders. Thank you for staying strong and representing the team with a 66th place finish!
  • Other VeloWomen present at the LP200 included:
    • 7th place two-person team – Debbie Taylor of “Team Fred”
    • 18th place team – Heather Youngwerth of “Rule 5 Followers”
    • 53rd place team – Lisa Kolesar of “Lactic Acid Cycling”
