Team Bobs-Bicycles.com was represented with 7 strong riders in the 19 rider peloton, and all the riders were present at the start, which had not been the case in the previous race. 2017 Spring Breakout2 Cat3 Race Recap
The mid-April weather in Boise was a bit wintry. The day before the 2nd Spring Breakout race (3-race series), I found myself doing openers inside on the rollers due to a small accumulation of morning snowfall. Race day brought clear skies, light wind, and the temperature had risen to a brisk mid 30F by race start (following overnight hard frost). 2017 Spring Breakout1 Cat4-5 Race Recap
With this year’s road racing season starting a month later than in past years, better weather and strong legs were a guarantee. The lollipop course for the Cat4-5 race was two laps of a relatively flat 16 mile circuit with a 1 mile neutral roll out that also served as the finishing leg.
